About the Role

Key Responsibilities

As a Primary Teacher in Caversham your responsibilities will include:

• Planning preparing and delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum in line with the National Curriculum

• Creating a safe inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes academic social and emotional growth

• Differentiating teaching to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities including those with SEN or EAL

• Monitoring pupil progress using formative and summative assessment and adapting teaching accordingly

• Maintaining high expectations for behaviour effort and achievement

• Supporting pupils social emotional and personal development alongside their academic progress

• Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants SEN staff and school leadership to implement targeted interventions

• Participating in pupil progress meetings curriculum planning and school-wide initiatives

• Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress behaviour and achievements

• Keeping accurate records of pupil performance assessment and behaviour

• Actively participating in staff meetings CPD sessions and professional development opportunities

• Upholding safeguarding child protection and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a Primary Teacher who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Has experience teaching in KS1 or KS2 (ECTs welcome)

• Demonstrates excellent classroom management and consistently applies positive behaviour strategies

• Is committed to inclusive education supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds

• Can differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of all learners

• Is reflective proactive and committed to professional development

• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils parents and colleagues

• Works collaboratively as part of a professional teaching team

• Is passionate about making a lasting impact on childrens learning and development

Experience supporting pupils with SEN EAL or additional learning needs is desirable but not essential.
