About the Role

A forward-thinking and inclusive primary school in Whitley Reading is seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join its professional teaching team. This is a full-time permanent position ideal for both experienced teachers and newly qualified teachers (ECTs).

The successful candidate will be responsible for a class in either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 planning delivering and assessing engaging lessons that inspire pupils and promote their academic social and emotional development. Key Responsibilities

As a Primary Teacher in Whitley your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning preparing and delivering high-quality engaging lessons across the curriculum in line with the National Curriculum

  • Creating a safe inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that supports academic social and emotional development

  • Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities including those with SEN or EAL

  • Monitoring pupil progress using formative and summative assessments and adapting teaching accordingly

  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour effort and achievement

  • Supporting pupils social emotional and personal development alongside academic progress

  • Collaborating with Teaching Assistants SEN staff and school leadership to implement targeted interventions

  • Participating in pupil progress meetings curriculum planning and school-wide initiatives

  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress achievements and concerns

  • Keeping accurate records of pupil performance assessment and behaviour

  • Actively participating in staff meetings CPD sessions and professional development opportunities

  • Upholding safeguarding child protection and school policies at all times


The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a Primary Teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Has experience teaching in KS1 or KS2 (ECTs welcome)

  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and consistently applies positive behaviour strategies

  • Is committed to inclusive education supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds

  • Can differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of all learners

  • Is reflective proactive and committed to ongoing professional development

  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils parents and colleagues

  • Works collaboratively as part of a professional teaching team

  • Is passionate about making a meaningful difference in childrens learning and development

Experience supporting pupils with SEN EAL or additional learning needs is desirable but not essential.
