Position Overview
Great Basin Staffing is hiring an Electrical Field Engineer to support delivery of municipal Water/Wastewater Treatment (WTP/WWTP) and heavy industrial projects. Youll bridge engineering and construction in an inspection-heavy environmentcoordinating RFIs/submittals supporting layout and QA/QC testing and packaging turnover documentation for commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Planning/Docs: Manage RFIs submittals drawing control (IFC sets one-lines P&IDs loop sheets) redlines/as-builts.
Look-aheads: Build 23 week plans with PM/Superintendent; align manpower tools and materials.
Field support: Assist layout for conduit/cable tray penetrations equipment pads terminations; verify quantities/progress.
QA/QC: Perform/coordinate continuity & megger tests torque checks point-to-point and I/O loop checks; record results.
Turnover: Compile MCC/SWGR energization records device checklists I/O matrices O&M deliverables and closeout packages.
Coordination: Interface with civil/mechanical/process teams vendors/OEMs controls integrators inspectors and owner reps.
Safety/Compliance: Uphold OSHA 1926 NFPA 70E LOTO trench/earthwork and confined-space requirements; maintain inspection-ready areas.
Minimum Qualifications
A.S./B.S. in Electrical Engineering Construction/Industrial Technology or equivalent field experience.
3 years on WTP/WWTP or heavy industrial electrical projects.
Strong literacy in IFC drawings one-lines panel schedules P&IDs loop drawings.
Working knowledge of MCC/switchgear VFDs instruments/I&C grounding/bonding and common field test methods.
Proficiency with Bluebeam and Excel; baseline MS Project/Smartsheet skills; basic CAD markups a plus.
Safety minded; understands NFPA 70E/LOTO practices.
Ability to walk sites/climb ladders; lift 4050 lbs intermittently; work outdoors in AZ conditions.
Preferred
WWTP commissioning/startup exposure (energization loop testing PSSR).
PLC/HMI/SCADA familiarity (working with integrators).
Certifications: OSHA-30 First Aid/CPR NICET/ISA (CCST) arc-flash/70E training.
Public-works documentation (CMAR/GMP) experience.
