DescriptionThe Role
The Business Development Consultant is responsible for supporting the identification of prospective opportunities assisting with the development of customer relationships and supporting the implementation of WTW South Africas marketing and sales plan while contributing to the sales and marketing team. To support new business activities through marketing campaigns strategic networking events and client roundtables. Assist with prospect tracking and pipeline development together with the CRB Leader Operational Leaders Production Team and Client Service Teams. Support collaboration with Operational Leaders in the preparation of pipeline forecasting for the market. This position works under supervision applying problem-solving skills within prescribed standard operating procedures.
Support the establishment of sufficient prospective opportunities in line with strategic business plans.
Maintain an understanding of prospective and new customer relationships to support business growth and profitability.
Assist in the preparation of the annual sales plan as input into the annual business plan.
Support the use of CRM systems and follow agreed processes and best practices in the South African insurance market.
Assist with maintaining an accurate pipeline forecast in line with revenue recognition protocols from finance.
Create and maintain prospect lists based on geography industry etc. under guidance.
Provide industry trend reports as appropriate.
Assist in monitoring marketing activities and gathering input related to client changes market conditions and competition.
Support the coordination of bi-annual sales business plan reviews with CRB Leadership and assist with sales reporting for sales individuals.
Support the coordination of monthly sales growth meetings.
Perform administrative and coordination tasks as required to support the team.
Responsibilities-
QualificationsThe Requirements
Bachelors Degree or equivalent qualification is required.
A maximum of 5 years experience in business development and direct sales within insurance or a related field.
Moderate to advanced knowledge and training in Microsoft products.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and group presentation skills.
Excellent project management skills.
Basic to developing knowledge of the South African insurance industry.
Developing analytical skills.
Strong relationship management skills; able to leverage internal and external relationships to bring WTW resources to support client and colleague needs.
