Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Research Support
- Assist in collecting and synthesizing information on direct admissions Financial Aid models in states who have comparable characteristics to Hawaii.
- Help compile profiles of key personnel and stakeholders involved in the development of Financial Aid initiatives related to Direct Admissions in other states.
2. Documentation and Analysis- Organize research findings and contribute to the development of summaries visualizations and reports.
- Support the identification of key components required for a sustainable and effective Financial Aid model to support Direct Admissions initiatives.
- Assist in defining terminology and compiling a working glossary of terms.
- Assist in the development of information/materials for FAQs etc.
3. Communication and Engagement- Support the review of outreach and communications strategies used by other states to promote Financial Aid opportunities for direct admissions to students and families.
- Help assess portals and platforms for usability and functionality.
- Document how eligibility criteria are defined and where flexibility exists for admissions decisions.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Education Communications Journalism Media Public Policy or related field and 0 years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for education administration or policy; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
2. Functional knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area of education administration or policy as demonstrated by knowledge understanding and ability to apply concepts terminology.
3. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles theories federal and state laws rules regulations and systems associated with education administration or policy.
4. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area of education administration or policy.
5. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation write reports and procedures and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team members and individuals.
7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
8. Possession of strong research writing and analytical skills.
9. Interest in higher education access student success and/or public policy.
10. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently and as part of a team.
11. Ability to create reports and visuals for reporting purposes
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs Slides Sheets) and Zoom.
2. Familiarity with qualitative research methods or educational data systems
