Job Summary
The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank offers a diverse workplace with professionals that work together to fulfill our mission in the fight to end hunger. The Coordinator Community Engagement will work under the direction of the Manager Campaigns & Events to support coordinate and implement fundraisingand marketinginitiatives for current and prospective donors and engagement activities for the Foodbank.
This positionwill cultivate and deepen relationships with prospectiveand existingdonors whoparticipatein food and funds drives third party events causemarketingand volunteer initiatives. They serve as the main contact for groups wishing to further engage with the Foodbank and steward relationships to a point of meaningful engagement collaborating internally to ensure engaged groups or individuals are connected to the proper contact. Theyestablishand build relationships through phone calls emails presentations event attendance face-to-facevisitsand other communications to increase community engagement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve asaprimary point of contactfor individuals organizations and businesses interested in furthering engagement with the Foodbank through hosting food and funds drives volunteering or executing community engagement events designed to raise awarenessfoodand financialdonations.
- Coordinatelogisticsand provide support to organizations and groups hostingfood and funds drives ensuring they have materialsguidanceand resources for successful participation. Support donor services in implementing virtual fundraising platforms.
- Implement the community engagement strategy includingstaff engagementfor the Foodbanks major campaigns including Harvest for Hunger and the Holiday Campaign.
- Attendexternal eventsas a representative of the organization to build visibility expand the network ofengagedprospectsand strengthen relationships in the presentationsto community groupsschoolsand businesses to educate them on hunger issues and encourage involvement.
- Serve as a main point of contact forspeakersbureauand tabling requests. Coordinate with prospects to fulfillrequests themselvesor recruitan appropriate staffmemberor volunteer.
- Work collaborativelywith fundraising marketingvolunteerandprogramsteams to align community engagement strategies with organizational goals.
- Work collaboratively withcorporate major gift officersto ensure corporate donors and their executives are being cultivatedsolicitedand stewarded tosustainyear over regularly to discussmovesmanagement.
- Provide excellentstewardshipto campaign and event participants by sharing stories of impact and providing campaign updates and program outcomes. Collaborate withDonorServices Team to ensure that all donations aredocumented andacknowledgedappropriately in a timely manner.
- Support Foodbankfundraising eventsby seeking sponsorships securing auctionitemand in-kind donations coordinating eventparticipationandassistingwith eventlogistics.
- Support and implement activities forcause marketingandpoint of purchasecampaigns including but not limited to Check Out Hunger.
- Maintainaccuraterecordsof donor interactions food drivedataand event participation in Raisers Edge. Preparereportssummarizing engagement metricstrendsand recommendations for improvement.
- Support volunteer and guest engagement activities including support of front desk coverage andoccasionalevening and Saturdayvolunteer activities.
- Independently manage special projects as assigned and performother dutiesasrequired.
Required Qualifications (knowledge skills abilities competencies)
- Bachelors degree preferablyin business management communicationsmarketingor non-profit management.
- 2-5years of fundraisingsalesor administrative support experience in mid-to-large non-profit organizations.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills including the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively
- and to deliver compelling coherent messages in one-to-one smallgroupand large group settings. A communication style that is open cordial empatheticwarmand persuasive. Good listener and consensus-builder.
- Ability to network effectively with individuals and businesses at all levels.
- Natural collaborator with the ability to work with individuals from various backgrounds on projects to gather information relevant to the work.
- Critical problem solver with the ability to concisely convey perspectives.
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to complete projects ona timelybasis and to manage multiple priorities and balance competing priorities.
- Possess confidence in using and learning various forms of technology and digital platforms.
- Ability and willingness to travelprimarilywithin the 8-county service regionbut also including occasional out-of-state conferencesseminarsor workshops.
- Ability tofollow All American Institute of Baking Feeding America Food and Drug Administration United States Department of Agriculture Occupational Safety Hazard Administration and Foodbank (standard operating procedures and employee handbook)standards andsafety regulations.
