Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled EEG Technician to support inpatient and outpatient neurodiagnostic services within an acute care hospital environment. The technician will perform routine EEG studies across all age groups ensure high-quality data acquisition and support neurologists through accurate data preparation and documentation.

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift Type: Day Shift

  • Shift Length: 8 hours

  • Hours: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM

Contract Details

  • Assignment Type: Contract

  • Duration: 13 weeks

Work Environment

  • Acute care hospital

  • Inpatient and outpatient neurodiagnostic settings

  • Patient population ranging from neonatal to geriatric

  • EMU experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine EEG studies in accordance with ASET guidelines

  • Apply and measure electrodes for adult and pediatric patients

  • Acquire edit and review EEG data including 24-hour recordings

  • Conduct descriptive analysis of EEG waveforms and observed patterns

  • Prepare raw data and reports for physician interpretation

  • Interact appropriately with patients and families providing clear instructions and reassurance

  • Maintain EEG equipment and acquisition stations

  • Stock supplies and report equipment malfunctions

  • Document equipment usage and maintenance in logbooks

  • Adhere to hospital and departmental policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.)

  • Minimum 1 year of EEG experience

  • Current BLS/CPR certification

  • Strong computer proficiency

  • Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills

  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment health clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)

  • Prior hospital-based neurodiagnostic experience
