Our client a leading Manufacturing company based in Port Shepstone is looking to fill the position of Mechanical Team Leader.
Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the Mechanical Engineer the successful incumbent will be required to manage and control the mechanical maintenance functions of the Plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plant and Equipment Availability Management manage the execution of maintenance activities to maximise availability and reliability of plant and equipment
- Maintenance Policy Execution execution of maintenance policy and compliance with maintenance standards
- People Management and Development employee performance is managed and performance reviews are conducted regularly. Ensure that performance improvement and training plans are documented for all subordinate positions and that subordinates are trained and developed to meet the required competencies of the job on an on-going basis
- Budget prepare and manage the budget in line with NPCs financial policies and procedures
- SHEQ manage and support SHEQ initiatives to achieve company SHEQ objectives. Build commitments to sustain improvements in safety.
- Manage and improve the safety standards at the operations and ensure compliance to company policies and other related legislations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Minimum: N4 Certificate (preferably in the Fitting Trade)
- Mechanical Trade Test
- Minimum of 3 years similar experience in a heavy industrial environment (Must have supervisory and leadership experience)
- At least 4 years experience as a qualified artisan
- SAP MRP System experience
- Construction cement or engineering industry experience is essential
