PSEC is one of the largest providers of social and health services in New Zealand. Our East Coast team is made up of over 230 staff and 150 volunteers across our services which include Enliven Disability Enliven Older Persons Family Works and two charity shops Havelock North and Taradale.
Enliven Disability Services work alongside young people under 65 living with complex disabilities. We aim to empower and support our flatters to live an extraordinary life as valued members of the community. You will be part of an well-driven and extremely motivated team working ceaselessly 24/7 to make a difference in our local community.
Enliven Disability Services is seeking an experienced chef/cook to plan and provide weekday lunches and evening meal service to flatters at Rowan this role you will be planning preparing cooking a lunches and evening meals for our 26 flatters. Some of our flatters are capable of meal preparations with support from staff. You will be an integral part of fostering this journey towards their own individual potentials.
Days and Time: Mondays to Fridays - 10.30am to 7pm / 80 hours per fortnight.
About the role:
- You will prepare and cook lunch and evening meals for 26 Flatters with a variety of dietary needs. Some are capable of preparing their own meals with support. You will be part of the planning and oversight of this journey with our flatters.
- You will support the management of the kitchen alongside the Operations Manager Site Manager and Team Leaders ordering groceries and kitchen equipment and replenishing stock.
- You will ensure the menu with support of our registered nurses ensuring our flatters clinical and dietary needs are met through healthy nutrition.
- Be responsive to the changing dietary and nutritional needs of our flatters.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen workspace.
You will need to:
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals appropriate healthy tasty and mana-enhancing for our flatters.
- Be self-motivated and confident working autonomously and efficiently
- Have good attention for detail
- Have Health and Safety awareness
- Work alongside the Operations Manager to work within a finite monthly budget.
- Be at team player
- Be able to follow instructions and work unsupervised
- Have food service and hospitality experience
- Know and abide by the New Zealand Disability Strategy the Eight Tenets of Enabling Good Lives the Code of Rights for People with Disabilities and the United Nations Conference on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
