The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to primarily serve the Veterans population of Louisiana through the provision of medical restorative and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the ultimate goal of returning the veterans to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.This position is located in the Administration/Maintenance Department of the Northwest LA Veterans Home in Bossier City Louisiana.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Serves as a Unit Payroll Manager and Timekeeper and enters payroll entries into the SAP Isis Payroll System on all full time and part time Nursing Assistants in the Nursing Department.
- Serves as back up timekeeper for Nurses and Clerical. Reviews schedules leave slips call-in slips accrual slips Physician Statements etc. for accuracy.
- Reviews Nursing payroll records for accuracy and completes and makes required changes.
- Completes and forwards all Prior Period Adjustments for Nursing to the Human Resources Department for payroll changes that occur after the pay period ends.
- Prepares various time-entry reports for review by Department Heads.
- For Maintenance Department compiles and assembles data for monthly mileage reports as recorded by state vehicle drivers.
- Files and maintains office records and performs general clerical duties for the maintenance department.
- Compiles and assembles daily fuel tickets and checks Fuel Trac reports for submission to accounting for payment. Maintains driving records schedules driving classes and obtains driving record information on employees who drive state vehicles.
- Generates approved driving list for supervisors use.
- Assists Facility Maintenance Manager A with recording and reconciliation of VISA purchasing for submission to the fiscal office.
- Prepares and tracts requisitions as requested by Facility Maintenance Manager A.
- Receives deliveries in the absence of the warehouse manager.
- Updates MSDS books on a monthly basic or as necessary. Updates log books with new log sheets as necessary. Assists Facility Maintenance Manager A in calls for follow-up repairs on equipment as needed.
- Assists in printing work orders as necessary and when the Facility Maintenance Manager A is not available.
- Tracks and files requisitions on a daily basic or as necessary.
- For Administration works at reception desk to provide information and assistance to visitors residents or staff. Answers telephone and transfers calls to appropriate staff.
- Distributes incoming mail and posts outgoing mail.
- Performs other related duties as necessary.
