We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Market Segment Director to join our team.
Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Market Segment Director sets the strategic direction of the manufacturing segment and is accountable for achieving growth and profit objectives. This leader drives portfolio analysis insight generation and data-driven decision-making to shape underwriting strategy product evolution and market positioning. This role requires extensive collaboration with product line of business directors risk management marketing field production actuarial and claims to ensure alignment and enable execution. The Director will develop and execute multiyear growth plans enhance underwriting expertise refine pricing and coverage strategies and evolve product and appetite guidelines. Success in this role depends on leveraging industry trends data analytics competitive intelligence and agency feedback to strengthen underwriting performance and differentiate the company in the manufacturing space
Responsibilities:
Own the strategic direction for the manufacturing market segment including development of multi-year roadmaps that drive profitable growth expand appetite accelerates underwriting expertise and strengthens product and market positioning.
Leads the cross departmental manufacturing project team ensuring objectives and key results are met consistently identify and remove blockers maintain initiative momentum and develop business cases to prioritize and resource critical initiatives.
Chair and lead our manufacturing agency counsel to gather market intelligence validate priorities and identify opportunities for competitive differentiation.
Develop analytic insights and leading indicators through internal and external research to inform underwriting pricing and product decisions.
Monitor and analyze segment performance identifying shifts in book mix loss trends and market dynamics; create proactive action plans to protect profitability and accelerate growth.
Evaluate and implement partnership opportunities including white-label pro-rata or other strategic agreements to support specialist growth strategy.
Develop and execute segment-specific branding strategy and marketing strategy in partnership with corporate marketing field production and agency partners.
Maintain deep expertise in competitive products and market offerings collaborating closely with product development to evolve the product suite to best-in-class standards.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree or equivalent work-related experience.
10 years commercial insurance experience with demonstrated expertise in the manufacturing segment.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results through influence and collaboration.
Property & Casualty industry or Product Management designations preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fastpaced highly visible and evolving environment.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problemsolving capabilities including comfort with ambiguity.
Exceptional verbal written and presentation communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to navigate and resolve complex or sensitive issues.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Experience influencing and collaborating with executive leadership.
