Manufacturing Engineer Section Lead CMV

Full-Time

Derby (Hybrid)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer Section Lead within the Valves and CMV Producibility team. You will be responsible for the methods of manufacture for SSNA Dreadnought and Current Class products supporting production and driving improvements across PCO and the supply chain.

The role focuses on improving and embedding manufacturing methods resolving production issues supporting new product introduction and driving continuous improvement. You will also provide technical leadership within the team helping to prioritise work and develop engineers

What you will be doing:

  • Produce robust manufacturing solutions that meet specified requirements and are resilient to variation.

  • Collaborate communicate and liaise effectively with stakeholders manufacturing and the supply chain to integrate knowledge and experience.

  • Capture store reuse and apply manufacturing knowledge including understanding existing standards and creating new ones where required.

  • Plan project manage and deliver technical packages and investigations to meet cost timescale quality and programme milestones.

  • Verify justify and qualify manufacturing solutions checking own and others work for completeness and correctness and leading issue resolution when needed.

  • Support production build maintenance and decommissioning activities across the component lifecycle.

  • Act in line with company objectives and professional engineering values while promoting continuous improvement of tools processes and methods


Position Qualifications:

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who is/has:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience.

  • Technical experience relevant to the engineering discipline.

  • An ability to apply logical analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems.

  • Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and justification.

  • Membership of a relevant professional body or working towards.

  • Experience as manufacturing engineer operating across the product life cycle undertaking design safety justification activities supporting manufacturing integration maintenance /refit activities and dealing with operational issues.

  • Experience in the development of methods standards and processes.
