Summary of the Role

We are seeking aSenior In-House Legal Counselwith top tier expertise incommercial contractingas well as experience withproduct counselingprivacyandmarketing complianceto support our US and India operations. This role will include contract review and negotiations implementing privacy operations and compliance for fintech product development and review of marketing content and role will partner closely LegalOps Compliance Marketing Procurement Product and other cross-functional teams to enable growth while managing risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial Contracting:
  • Ability to independently draft review and negotiate commercial agreements including NDAS MSAs SOWs amendments reseller agreements channel partner agreements SaaS Terms of Use marketing agreements and Data Processing Addendums.
  • Develop maintain and improve contract templates and playbooks for speed and compliance.
  • Accelerate deal closure by quickly identifying key risks and neutralize them by pragmatic solutions.
• Product Counseling:
  • Advise Marketing Product and Engineering teams on development of compliant products embedding privacy and regulatory compliance.
  • Review go to market materials B2B and B2C customer communication and prepare legal disclosures and disclaimers.
  • Review Terms of Use product policies and user-facing legal content and customer service scripts for consumer protection.
  • Apply legal requirements into product development.
• Privacy & Compliance:
  • Operationalize privacy frameworks for USA and India operations.
  • Ensure privacy & regulatory compliance is built into product websites use of marketing technology and sales operations.
  • Partner with Security and IT on data protection and regulatory requirements.
• Marketing Compliance:
  • Review marketing content blogs and customer scripts for regulatory compliance.
  • Assess and document use of technologies for marketing advertising and website optimization for privacy and regulatory compliance.
• Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with Sales Product Engineering Finance and HR to enable business objectives while mitigating risk.

Qualifications

• LL.B. (or equivalent) from a recognized institution; enrolled with a State Bar Council in India.
• 7 years PQEwith strong experience incommercial contractsandproduct counseling.
• Proven ability todraft and negotiatecomplex agreements including SaaS terms and DPAs.
• Strong understanding ofprivacy laws and conceptsincluding ability to negotiate contract privacy terms and addendums.
• Experience advising engineers and software developers onproduct compliance.
• Experience working withU.S. companies and clients.
• Background inin-house legal rolesor top-tier law firms with exposure to tech/SaaS preferred.

Nice to Have

• Experience counseling product and engineering roles on technical product development and conducting marketing compliance reviews.
• Experience in SaaS or technology companies especially in fintech and/or adtech.
• Experience setting up privacy compliance programs for CCPA and GLBA.
• Familiarity with CLM tools Ironclad Asana Salesforce.
• Experience scaling legal department services including building legal processes policies playbooks and CLM workflows.
• Creativity and curiosity to bring scalable legal service solutions to the business.
