In Lund Sweden we are looking for a Director who will lead our Manufacturing department of 35 people. Manufacturing is organized in two production departments: Upstream(13) and Downstream(14) and one Engineering Support department (8). We are producing 25 different growth factors and affinity ligands based on microbial fermentation in 85-3000 L scale followed by recovery and chromatographic purification in 10-100 cm columns. Operators are working 2-3 shifts 5 days a week. Our Engineering Support department maintains our facility and equipment and ensures calibrated status of all equipment. They are also responsible for automation as well as our capex projects.

Responsibilities
The Director Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
- Strategic Leadership: Together with Management Team develop company strategies and develop and implement manufacturing strategies to support the companys objectives and growth plans.
- Resource Planning: Lead budgeting staffing planning and allocation of resources across all sub-departments.
- Operational Responsibility: Ensure that Production- and Engineering Support departments collaborate effectively to achieve production targets and delivery precision.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure that all production is conducted in compliance with procedures and safety standards.
- Staff Development: Inspire support and develop leaders as well as employees within the three departments. Ensure competence supply cross training and a positive working environment.
Collaboration: Act as a key person in dialogue with other departments such as QA QC R&D Supply Chain and EHS.
- Process and Improvement Work: Drive and implement continuous improvements concerning productivity quality and cost efficiency using our LEAN system (RPS).
- Technical Development: Drive companys capex process investments and implementation of new technology. Ensure that maintenance and calibration programs are in place to ensure that facilities and equipment are fit for purpose and up to date.
Qualifications
The Successful Director Manufacturing will have the following background:
- Technical or Science oriented Bachelors or Masters degree
- 10 years of manufacturing experience 3 years of people management experience including management of managers preferably in chemical processing environment.
- Life-science sector knowledge especially from regulated biotech preferred.
- Experience from working in an international matrix organisation.
- Analytical adaptable and excels in fast-paced settings.
- Strong communication in Swedish change management proficient in English.
- Proven leadership and motivational abilities with a proactive collaborative style and experience from continuous improvement work.
- Experience from working with SAP and Electronic Batch Records is an advantage.
