Job Summary

Position Summary:
The Baker is responsible for preparing baking and presenting high-quality bread and bakery products in accordance with company standards food safety requirements and daily production schedules. The role requires consistent product quality efficient time management and adherence to workplace health and safety practices.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and baking bread rolls and bakery products according to established recipes and production schedules

  • Mixing kneading shaping proving and baking dough using commercial bakery equipment

  • Monitoring baking processes and adjusting temperatures and timing to ensure consistent quality

  • Ensuring all products meet Bakers Delight quality freshness and presentation standards

  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of work areas equipment and storage areas in line with food safety regulations

  • Following workplace health and safety policies and safe operating procedures

  • Managing stock rotation and minimizing wastage

  • Assisting with opening and closing duties as required

  • Working efficiently as part of a team to meet daily production targets



Requirements

  • Previous experience in a commercial bakery environment preferred

  • Knowledge of bread production techniques and baking processes

  • Ability to work early morning shifts and meet production deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

    Required Skills:

    AQF Certificate III in Baking or equivalent qualification OR minimum 35 years relevant commercial baking experience At least 2 years post-qualification or equivalent industry experience Proven experience in artisan and commercial bread production Strong understanding of dough fermentation baking processes and quality control Ability to work early mornings weekends and under pressure Reliable punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.
