This post is mainly responsible in ensuring that project activities and processes directly implemented and those implemented by the implementing partners are in accordance with thematic standard and relevant quality benchmarks and aligned with the organizational strategic plan particularly Goal 1 where SCP drives significant improvements in the health learning protection and participation of the most excluded and vulnerable children and where relevant Goals 2 (resource generation) and 3 (SCP performance drivers).
The nature and context of the education portfolio require the post holder to have an understanding and appreciation of childrens rights; child protection; inclusion; governance and stakeholder mobilization and multi-stakeholder engagement; risk assessment and mitigation; research; and skills in module development; meeting training workshop organizing and facilitation; and technical writing particularly in the context of inclusive school health and nutrition.
Essential skills knowledge or experience
At least 3 year experience in working on issues or an equivalent level of experience
Familiarity and experience with the concepts of inclusive education disability human rights empowering civil society local governance childrens rights and child protection.
Experience in project management cycle
Ability to develop new ideas and innovation; capacity to think strategically
Desirable skills knowledge or experience
Can deal with various levels of stakeholders - from decision-makers to field level practitioners
Has proven skills in program management training/module design and delivery and facilitation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Computer literate and adept in the use of MS Office software (Word Excel PowerPoint)
Can work well in highly stressful situations
A team player willing to work long hours toward the attainment of program objectives and deliverables
Understanding of Save the Childrens vision and mission and a commitment to its objectives; willing to adopt Save the Children methodology and framework in program implementation; abide by and implement Save the Childrens Eight Agency Policies including Child Safety.
Must have a high sense of urgency and well-developed work ethic.
