The Opportunity
In this full-time on-site role the Licensed Addiction Counselor serves as a core member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. This position provides direct clinical services to adults participating in PHP and IOP programming utilizing evidence-based interventions and trauma-informed practices. The Licensed Addiction Counselor plays a critical role in assessment treatment planning clinical documentation and ongoing coordination of care to support sustained recovery outcomes.
What You Will Do at Healing Rock Recovery
- Provide individual and group counseling services for clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments ASAM-aligned evaluations and ongoing clinical reassessments.
- Develop implement and update individualized recovery-oriented treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the treatment team.
- Facilitate psychoeducational and process groups focused on relapse prevention coping skills emotional regulation and recovery capital.
- Provide crisis intervention and clinical support as needed within the scope of licensure and program protocols.
- Collaborate closely with medical psychiatric case management and peer support staff to ensure integrated coordinated care.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and case consultations.
- Support care transitions including step-down planning discharge preparation and coordination with external providers and referral sources.
- Maintain timely accurate and compliant clinical documentation in Kipu EMR in accordance with state regulations payer requirements and organizational standards.
- Uphold ethical standards professional boundaries and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
What You Bring to Healing Rock Recovery
- Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) credential in the State of Montana active and in good standing.
- Demonstrated experience providing clinical services in substance use disorder treatment settings.
- Working knowledge of ASAM criteria evidence-based treatment modalities and recovery-oriented systems of care.
- Strong clinical judgment assessment skills and ability to manage complex client presentations.
- Commitment to trauma-informed culturally responsive and person-centered care.
- Excellent communication documentation and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary behavioral health environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems; Kipu experience preferred but not required.

- Associates or Bachelors degree in Counseling Social Work Psychology Behavioral Health or a related field meeting Montana licensure requirements.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in substance use disorder treatment preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in assessment treatment planning and group facilitation.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care motivational interviewing and relapse prevention strategies.
- Ability to maintain compliance with HIPAA 42 CFR Part 2 and Montana behavioral health regulations.
- Strong organizational documentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary treatment team.
