The C Operator position is the entry-level role in the operator classification. Individuals in this position are expected to actively learn and develop a thorough understanding of all procedures within their assigned area. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing and receiving accurate pass down at shift change.
- Conduct initial rounds at the start of each shift to assess the physical condition and operational status of the assigned unit area.
- Works safely in accordance with all safety rules operating manuals work permits and special instructions; ensures that all reporting operators do the same.
- Operates equipment according to general instructions from the operating procedures and specific instructions from their supervisor. Trouble shoots processes/equipment as required.
- If directed will take responsibility for the chemical processing and all equipment in their area upon direction by Supervisor.
- Safely handle both packaged and bulk chemicals following approved handling and transfer procedures.
- Assist in area maintenance activities including proper permitting and coordination.
- Maintain accurate inventory records during the shift through movement slips and ERP system entries.
- Maintains housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
QualificationsEducation and Experience:
- GED or High School diploma is required.
- Demonstrated mechanical ability through previous work experience
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Ability to work a varying schedule including rotating shift weekends and holidays.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience using our ERP System & Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of raw materials chemical processes unit operations and production equipment within facility.
- Troubleshooting/problem solving skills.

Physical Requirements and Environment:
- Must be able to lift push pull and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier items with assistance.
- Requires frequent walking standing climbing stairs/ladders bending reaching kneeling and working in confined spaces or elevated areas.
- Must be able to wear full PPE including hard hats safety glasses hearing protection gloves flame-resistant clothing and respiratory protection as required.
- Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions including hot cold humid noisy or dusty environments.
- Requires the ability to distinguish colors sounds and alarms critical to safe plant operations.
- Must be physically able to respond to emergencies including rapid evacuation or assisting others.
