The YAC is responsible for advising the State Board and senior staff designing and delivering youth engagement and mobilisation initiatives and promoting the work of Australian Red opportunityInterest/experience in coordinating projects and/or eventsHighly developed communication and interpersonal skills and confident presenting to a broad range of stakeholdersMarketing and social media skills (desirable)Experience working with community based organisations (desirable)Experience working with diverse people including culturally and linguistically diverse peopleAt ease working independently or as part of a diverse and geographically dispersed team to share the workloadOrganisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and manage commitmentsKnowledge of and interest in the work of Australian Red CrossStrong commitment to taking humanitarian action and voluntary serviceThe impactLead the design and implementation of YAC projects events and initiatives (i.e. Youth Week) as agreed at Planning Days and YAC meetingsProvide regular progress updates and reports to the YAC Chair or project leadRepresent the YAC on other Red Cross committees where appointedAttend and assist with Red Cross events as required (AGM World Red Cross Day ANZAC Day Member Forums etc.)Research youth-related topics and documents and provide written reports to senior staffProvide advice and support to University Clubs Clubs and Branches as neededCollaborate with YACs in other States/ with the state Board and advocate for participation recognition and support for young people in all relevant activities of Red CrossProvide advice from a youth perspective for Red Cross programs and business functions particularly those involving young peopleApplication requirementsFor this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check which will be organised by Red submit this application you will need to submit a recent copy of your role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check or Working With Vulnerable People Check (depending on your State/Territory).
