Our Western Australian Project Management Office (PMO) supports projects from early definition and FEED through to construction commissioning and operational optimisation across Perth Mt Weld and Kalgoorlie.
We are seeking an E&I Project Engineer to support the planning and delivery of HV MV LV and EIC works across our Western Australian operations. This role is ideal for a proactive electrical engineer who enjoys working across site and office environments and contributing to the successful delivery of capital projects from early definition through to construction and commissioning. About the Role:
Reporting to the WA Engineering & Construction PMO Manager you will lead contractor supervision and SMP execution across site and office environments. The role suits a proactive engineer who enjoys front-end project development site delivery and problem-solving in a complex operating environment.
Work Location & Roster:
- When on site (Kalgoorlie & Mt Weld): 8/6 roster 48 hrs/week
- When in Perth Office: 5/2 roster 50 hrs/week
Key Responsibilities:
- Support contractor supervision and interface with Engineering Operations and Maintenance during construction and commissioning
- Coordinate contractor progress performance schedule and compliance
- Assist with execution plans work packs scopes of work and schedules for Electrical and EIC components including during FEED and early project phases
- Support procurement and coordination of materials services and documentation
- Participate in design reviews and resolve engineering and site issues using sound electrical engineering judgement
- Contribute to safety quality defect resolution completions commissioning activities and project close-out.
- Undertake in-house design development and detailing for small-scale works where appropriate
- Build knowledge of the rare earth concentrate production process and apply this to project delivery
About You:
- Bachelors degree in electrical or related Engineering discipline
- Experience as a Project or Field Electrical Engineer with practical exposure to operating or brownfields plant environments
- Comfortable adapting between office-based project work and site engagement as delivery demands
- Strong grounding in electrical engineering fundamentals with exposure to HV MV LV and instrumentation systems
- Able to conceptualise check and communicate engineering solutions using first-principles judgement and where appropriate sketches or appropriate design tools
- Practical curious and willing to contribute across the full project lifecycle
- Interested in building long-term capability within a small accountable PMO
- Strong organisational communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- A methodical safety-focused and quality-driven approach
- Previous experience working on Australian construction sites or with Australian engineering or construction firms
- Full working rights in Australia

- Exposure to process control systems
- Experience in minerals processing or materials handling facilities
- Proficiency with MS Project Excel completions systems and document management systems
- WA Manual Drivers Licence
