What Will You Do in This Role
Schedule: Lead server will be responsible for 3 breakfast shifts and 2 dinner shifts per week. This will allow them to make sure the team is supported for both morning and evening services. Will also need to have weekend availability so that we have support for all shifts.
Reporting: Responsible for maintaining the beverage temperature log test tray log dining room refrigerator logs and service timing logs. Also responsible for training all Dietary Aides on the proper use of the logs.
Training: Assist the CDM with development of job flow charts for opening mid shift and closing dietary aides. Job flows will include step by step instructions for tasks to be completed and the order they are to be done in. She will be responsible for communicating the job flows to the dietary aides and coordinating any changes needed with the CDM. Assist in the training of other Dietary Servers on said team.
Sanitation: Lead server will assist the CDM with maintaining proper sanitation. This includes training staff in Serv Safe approved cleaning techniques and monitoring daily/weekly cleaning schedules. Cleaning schedules for day and evening shifts need to be posted and staff held accountable for completing the tasks. Lead server will communicate any accountability issues to the CDM and coordinate ongoing training for all dietary aides.
Lead server will maintain a current ServSafe Managers certification. This must be renewed no more than thirty days prior to the expiration of her current license.
Ticketing: Lead server will train with the CDM on how to input diet orders monitor and print meal tickets. When the CDM is not in the building it is the responsibility of the lead server to make sure that tickets are printed distributed and collected as per building policy.
Education: Lead server needs to be aware of all prescribed diet orders. This includes texture modifications and all liberalized diet orders per Tutera policy. Lead server needs to communicate any errors with the cooks and the CDM immediately so that meal service is safe for our residents.
Communication: Lead server is to attend all departmental meetings and ensure that dietary aides are aware of any information given during those meetings.
Lead server is to communicate issues with any of the above expectations with the CDM or Admin immediately.
Lead server needs to be pro-active in finding solutions to any resident issues. Dining services must address any resident requests professionally. CDM/Admin are to be alerted to any needs from the residents. Lead server is also responsible for ensuring that corrections made for any resident are followed up on timely.
