• Masters or Doctoral degree in social work psychology mental health counseling or related field.
• All State of Florida requirements met for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with two years post-degree supervised experience.

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our Endocrinology Pediatrics Team. This position will provide psychosocial assessments preliminary diagnoses and evidence based psychotherapeutic treatments as well as case management support planning and consultation for children and adolescents with endocrine-related conditions and the mental health challenges that often accompany them. Assist families in coping with their childs mental health challenges and in partnering with treatment team members including medical providers in Pediatric Endocrinology. The counselor will report to the Division Chief who may provide specific supervisor or consultation for complex psychiatric disorders in coordination with a child psychologist.

Job Duties:

• Provide direct counseling services (individual family group) to patients with chronic illnesses and related mental health conditions (e.g. depression anxiety) using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments develop treatment plans and document patient progress in the electronic medical record.
• Assist patients and families with coping strategies adjustment to chronic illness and connection to community and social support resources.
• Screen and assess complex mental health needs of patients and their families including identifying weaknesses services and financial constraints.
• Coordinate care with medical providers nursing staff and other members of the interdisciplinary team to support integrated treatment of mental and physical health needs.
• Participate in professional development training and continuing education to maintain licensure and enhance clinical skills.
• Assist with data collection quality improvement initiatives or research activities within the division as needed.

$75000 annually

• Masters or Doctoral degree in social work psychology mental health counseling or related field.
• All State of Florida requirements met for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with two years post-degree supervised experience.

Professionals with one of the following credentials and training in psychotherapy:

• Social worker with a masters degree or doctorate from an accredited school of social work
• Counselor with a masters degree in counseling
• Psychologist with a masters degree or doctorate in clinical psychology
• Other professional license to provide counseling and psychotherapy services accredited by theFlorida Department of Health Division of Medical Quality Assurance

Additionally professionals with the following licensing and experience:

• LCSW with active State of Florida license
• LMHC with active State of Florida license
• 2-3 years full time clinical counseling experience
