Required Education and Experience:
Planner Level 3 - $33.86/hr
Associates degree in Planning Business or a related field and 2 years of related work experience.
Planner Level 4 - $35.72/hr
Bachelors degree in Economics Planning Business Administration or a related field and 1 year of directly related experience.
Alternative combinations of related experience and education may be considered. Such as 4 or 5 years of related experience.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in excel and ability to utilize data to perform analysis.
Ability to work with a variety of external stakeholders.
Ability to communicate and present information to a variety of groups.

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Transportation Planner EMS/Highway Safety Program Manager. This position will serve as MDTs Emergency Medical Services Grant Manager the back-up for the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) Analysis and Traffic Records Contract Manager. This position works with state and local highway partners and performs data analysis. Will also assist other areas of the Behavioral Safety Strategy & Coordination Section with high priority areas to reduce highway traffic fatalities and serious injuries.
