Transports patients and patient related items throughout the medical center in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible to complete patient transports in a timely manner maintain clean equipment interact politely and professionally with patients visitors and medical center staff. Functions independently and as a team member frequently with direction via phone or pager.
Working flexible hours which include days evenings day/evenings holidays weekends and/or split shifts with rotating days off. Will stand and walk majority of work schedule; frequently push/pull up to 25 pounds occasionally push/pull 50-80 pounds. This job requires full use of both hands repetitive foot motion and trunk rotate/twist/reach.
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous hospital clinical or patient care experience is preferred. Must be able to work independently and in a group setting. Requires exceptional communication telephone and human relation skills to interact with patients guests and staff. Strong problem-solving skills are necessary. Must be able to adapt to unpredictable and stressful situations. Basic computer skills required. Must be able to read write and understand English.
