We are actively seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to play a critical role on our leadership team steering the development and execution of our health and safety strategy. Health & Safety is not just a compliance function at Strathcona; it is a shared responsibility across the organization and a reflection of our values. We are looking for a Health & Safety leader who builds strong relationships influences positively and partners with all teams to maintain a safe accountable and high-performing workplace.
Essential Functions
Lead and continuously improve Strathconas Health & Safetymanagement system ensuring regulatory compliance while fostering a culture where safety conversations are open practical and solutions-focused
Provide strategic leadership and development to the Health & Safety team including staffing development and human resources management
Encourage a positive and proactive safety culture through engagement with all levels of management and workers in head office and field office
Oversee the development and implementation of effective loss control programs
Provide oversight of corporate and site-specific emergency response plans assurance security management training and competency
Work with operations and others to facilitate the development and implementation of effective learning management and competency development systems and tools
Liaise with regulators non-government organizations community groups and external stakeholders as required
Direct incident response and investigations
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a Health & Safety leadership role ideally in upstream oil and gas industry
Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements for upstream oil and gas and experience in the development and implementation of programs to strategically manage risks in these areas.
Ability to work with stakeholders to deliver effective corporate programs and enhance safety culture.
Occupational Health & Safety degree diploma or certificate or relevant experience
Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) Certification is an asset
