We are actively seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to play a critical role on our leadership team steering the development and execution of our health and safety strategy. Health & Safety is not just a compliance function at Strathcona; it is a shared responsibility across the organization and a reflection of our values. We are looking for a Health & Safety leader who builds strong relationships influences positively and partners with all teams to maintain a safe accountable and high-performing workplace.

Essential Functions

• Lead and continuously improve Strathconas Health & Safetymanagement system ensuring regulatory compliance while fostering a culture where safety conversations are open practical and solutions-focused

• Provide strategic leadership and development to the Health & Safety team including staffing development and human resources management

• Encourage a positive and proactive safety culture through engagement with all levels of management and workers in head office and field office

• Oversee the development and implementation of effective loss control programs

• Provide oversight of corporate and site-specific emergency response plans assurance security management training and competency

• Work with operations and others to facilitate the development and implementation of effective learning management and competency development systems and tools

• Liaise with regulators non-government organizations community groups and external stakeholders as required

• Direct incident response and investigations

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a Health & Safety leadership role ideally in upstream oil and gas industry

• Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements for upstream oil and gas and experience in the development and implementation of programs to strategically manage risks in these areas.

• Ability to work with stakeholders to deliver effective corporate programs and enhance safety culture.

• Occupational Health & Safety degree diploma or certificate or relevant experience

• Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) Certification is an asset
