The opportunity
As an Expert Group Underwriter you will work within a team of skilled and energetic employees like yourself. You will collaborate with the Group Insurance Pricing team to ensure that Medavie Blue Cross achieves its financial objectives for group health life and disability insurance sectors.
You will support pricing for large and complex corporate groups respond to internal and external inquiries mentor underwriters and contribute to strategic initiatives and process improvements.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Establish renewal and quote pricing for large and complex groups
Analyze experience and trends to support pricing recommendations and longterm feasibility
Respond to internal and external client inquiries related to pricing experience and plan design
Conduct peer reviews coaching and mentoring for underwriting staff
Participate and/or lead projects and processimprovement initiatives
Prepare and/or review ASO and Retention financial statements and agreements
Provide underwriting input to management and business partners
The Ideal Candidate Would Have the Following Skills
Post-secondary education in the field of business administration mathematics actuarial science statistics or finance.
10-15 years progressive Group Underwriting experience including different funding -arrangements and corporate groups.
Strong knowledge of Excel and Word
Strong communication skills
Excellent analytical and decisionmaking abilities
Strong timemanagement and organizational skills
Teamoriented with strong negotiation skills
Bilingualism (French and English) is required to meet business needs
Salary Range: $99177.00 to $121217.00
