Job Summary

Every volunteer and guest interaction is an opportunity to make a differenceat the Akron-Canton Regional position requiresa dynamic hands-on leader to overseethevolunteer program ensuring every person feels welcomedvaluedand inspired. This role will lead a team with enthusiasm and accountability coordinate meaningful experiences and uphold the highest standards of service across all Foodbank locations and events.Hours M-F 8a-4p. Salary range: $58k-62k based on experience.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Overseeall volunteer and guest activitiesin all Foodbank locationsto ensureeach person hasa gold-star includes any offsite venues where volunteers may be events.
  2. Welcome visitorswith friendliness and positivityand work collaboratively with other Foodbank staff to ensure all guests (neighbors volunteers vendors network partners outside groups etc.) are met with an exceptional first impression and also includesresolvingconflictsshould they arise.
  3. Create and lead anorganization-widestrategyforoverallvolunteerism at the includes creatingvolunteer-relatedstrategic outcomes and metricsto be used for all volunteeractivities.
  4. Assistinvolunteerschedulingandrecruitingto fill volunteer positions for individuals and groupswhileensuringallcritical roles are filled.
  5. Createtraining materialsandjob descriptions for volunteer roles andassistwith training volunteers. Be ready and willing to jump into any volunteer role tofill in as may include powered equipment training such asutilizingpallet jacks.
  6. Coordinatevolunteerprojectsbetweenvolunteer centerstaffpantry staff operations and anyother Foodbankdepartment requesting volunteer support.
  7. Oversee the coordinationofschedulingandhostingofoutsidegroupsthat wish to useFoodbank meeting spacesand collaborate with staff to ensuretheguest experience meets the highest may includehelpingto coordinate thevolunteer experiencetours room setup A/V equipment supplies schedulingand coordinatinga Foodbank staff member to welcome the group or give a brief presentation.
  8. Routinely evaluate current processes and procedures(SOPs)and recognizeopportunities for feedback fromcurrent volunteersto gain insighton opportunities.
  9. Coordinate allexternalcommunicationswithvolunteers and guests in partnership with the marketing department.
  10. Coordinate allinternal communicationsrelated to volunteers and outside groupsincluding portfolio holders safety and security considerationsfacilityand/or parking requirements could also include coordinating with leadership for VIP guests or board members.
  11. Fosterrelationshipsto discoverconnectiontoourmissionamong volunteersto furthertheir engagement includesstewardingvolunteers who express the desire to engage further in their with gift officers for selectingannual volunteers of the year.
  12. Supervisereceptionstaffto ensure all guests and volunteersexperienceexcellent customer includes coordinating coverage during breaks as well as training other staff or volunteers to coverreception when needed.
  13. Providesupportfor Foodbank events both onsite and offsite as well as during business hours andoutside ofbusiness hours.
  14. Act as an upstandingFoodbankrepresentativeinthe community and work collaboratively with other Foodbank employees.
  15. Independentlymanage special projects as assigned and perform other duties asrequired.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelorsdegree preferred
  2. 3-5 years relevant experience
  3. Skilled in cultivating a positive collaborative team environment by supporting diverse workstyles and guiding staff toward shared goals.
  4. Demonstrates a balanced leadership approach that combines empathy clearcommunicationand consistent accountability tomaintainhigh standardsof service and performance.
  5. Experience in project management judgment and decision-making skills proficientin managing multiple projects and attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment.
  6. Ability toanticipateproject needs discern work priorities with little supervision and be willing toworkoccasional evenings and weekends.
  7. Possess interpersonal skills that lead to strong and authentic relationshipsbothinternallyacross Foodbank departmentsand externallythroughoutthe community.
  8. Provide outstanding customer service andact asan enthusiastic professionalrepresentingthe Foodbank.
  9. Demonstrateclear and conciseverbal and written communicationcompetenciesincludingconfidence in delivering presentationsand speakingto all group sizes.
  10. Exhibit strong analytical skills with the ability to apply strategic and creative thinking.
  11. Possess confidence in using and learning various forms of technologyand digitalplatforms.
  12. Ability and willingness to travelprimarilywithin the 8-county service regionbut also includingoccasionalout-of-state conferencesseminarsor workshops.
  13. Ability tofollow All American Institute of Baking Feeding America Food and Drug Administration United States Department of Agriculture Occupational Safety Hazard Administration and Foodbank (standard operating procedures and employee handbook)standards andsafety regulations.
