Location: Rochester NY
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Day Shift 4 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 PM)
Pay Range: $45 $56/hour
Job Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse to join a 39-bed Acute Stroke Unit. This unit specializes in the care of acute stroke patients neurological conditions and complex medical cases. The role requires the ability to safely manage a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio in a fast-paced high-acuity environment.
This opportunity is ideal for both experienced travel nurses and first-time travelers looking to work in a supportive well-structured stroke care setting.
Key Responsibilities
Cardiac Monitoring & Emergency Response
Interpret cardiac rhythms and identify dysrhythmias
Initiate appropriate interventions and treatments
Activate Rapid Response and Code Teams when necessary
IV Therapy & Phlebotomy
Perform peripheral IV insertion care and management
Administer IV medications and fluids
Perform phlebotomy as required
Respiratory Care
Manage oxygen delivery devices including nasal cannula and face masks
Provide non-invasive airway support and monitoring
Clinical & Professional Practice
Monitor patient vital signs and neurological status
Implement and adjust care plans based on patient condition
Adhere to infection control and isolation precautions
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Respond promptly to changes in patient status and emergencies
Required Qualifications
Active New York RN License (required at submission no exceptions)
Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN experience
Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
Proficiency in IV therapy phlebotomy and oxygen management
BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)
Epic EMR experience (required)
Ability to safely manage 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratios
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
