Job Summary
Pay: $29.12 per hour
Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply current National Building Codes in making recommendations relevant changes and or modifications to University buildings or equipment. Capable of checking and understanding other applicable codes relating to residential and commercial applications
- Working knowledge in general layout of plumbing systems for residential and commercial applications. Install repair and maintain distribution services for domestic sanitary and specialized applications such as laboratories mechanical equipment refrigeration air conditioning water treatment etc
- Install repair and maintain high and low pressure water and air including DWC PVC Dur-iron cast copper and steel all manner of pumps mixers regulators etc. Skilled in pipe fitting and plumbing welding brazing etc
- Capable of working with low-pressure hot water systems single and double pipe gravity and forced air heating systems
- Under authority and direction of the Central Heating Plant Chief (where applicable) repair and maintain various low pressure steam equipment and piping including heat exchangers PRVs steam traps check valves control valves pressure vessels hot water boilers etc up to 15 psi
- Perform general mechanical maintenance and repair on various types of equipment
Qualifications :
- Certifications: Red-Seal Master or 1 or more Journeyman tickets
- A valid drivers license required
