The position is accountable for providing guidance and other assistance to S-W Corporate Staff Divisional Staff and Customers in the areas of air water solid and hazardous waste management as well as sustainability to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations protecting human health the environment and communities around Sherwin-Williams sites. This position is responsible for the management and execution of projects either Corporate or Divisional in scope focusing on the areas of air water solid & hazardous waste and sustainability.
Additional Information:
This position has 25% travel.
This role is not remote/hybrid. This role will report to Sherwin-Williams Global Headquarters located at 1 Sherwin Way Cleveland OH 44113.

1.) Environmental Protection & Compliance
Ensure organizational compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations. Conduct impact assessments of pending or newly enacted environmental legislation affecting PCG operations across North American facilities and branches. Provide strategic guidance to operational teams on achieving compliance with local state and federal requirements.
Support PCG locations in the U.S. and Canada (USCA) through direct engagement or by coordinating with external environmental consultants as necessary.
Assist sites in preparing and submitting permit applications for environmental requirements including but not limited to air emissions and water discharge permits.
Collect manage and maintain environmental data within centralized databases to facilitate compliance monitoring and reporting across all PCG locations.
Monitor and follow up on findings from governmental environmental inspections and internal audits ensuring timely resolution of identified gaps and corrective actions.
Provide expert guidance during environmental emergencies and respond to inquiries from external customers regarding environmental compliance and practices.
2.) Project Management
Administer and maintain departmental electronic databases software programs and physical project documentation to ensure accuracy accessibility and compliance with record-keeping standards.
Lead short-term high-priority initiatives such as emergency response activities and implementation of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) management systems ensuring timely execution and alignment with organizational objectives.
Manage internal environmental projects and provide support for peer-led external contractor projects as needed. Coordinate one or more projects with budgets up to $100000 ensuring scope schedule and cost objectives are met.
3.) Environmental Guidance & Training
Conduct comprehensive EHS audits across PCG facilities automotive branches R&D locations and evaluate off-site waste management vendors to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
Design enhance and deliver environmental training programs on topics such as hazardous waste management and emerging regulatory requirements utilizing virtual platforms and on-site sessions.
Analyze pending and existing environmental legislation related to air quality water quality waste management and emergency planning; assess applicability and operational impact.
Develop and distribute technical guidance documents to effectively communicate requirements and best practices to corporate teams business units and divisions; provide consultative support as needed.
4.) Program Support
Execute environmental program activities in key areas including Air Quality Management Water and Soil Protection Waste Management and Sustainability initiatives.
Develop maintain and update program documentation such as standards procedures and technical guidelines to ensure consistency and regulatory alignment.
Design and deliver training modules to support environmental program implementation and continuous improvement.
Administer environmental data management systems ensuring accuracy integrity and completeness of records for compliance and sustainability reporting.
Validate and reconcile environmental data; collaborate with sites regional EHS teams and corporate stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and maintain high data quality.
5.) Annual submission and legal reporting of waste data and sustainability reports
Collect consolidate and submit environmental (e.g. air waste and SARA 312) reports and sustainability data in accordance with federal state provincial and local regulatory requirements.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of U.S. state and Canadian provincial environmental reporting obligations to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
Establish and manage relationships with local contractors for specialized compliance tasks; oversee contractor performance and adherence to project requirements.
Develop and implement systems and processes to monitor compliance status and ensure ongoing adherence to legal and corporate standards.
Minimum Requirements:
Must have bachelors degree or higher
Must have at least five (5) years of general environmental experience with knowledge of environmental permitting reporting and hazardous waste regulations within US.
Must have at least one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word Excel Power Point Teams and/or Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
Have bachelors degree in Environmental Science or Engineering
