Seeking a highly experienced and expert Payroll Accounting Senior Lead to join our team. This role will be an integral part of our US-based General Ledger team reporting directly to them. Lead the payroll accounting process for US and Canadian entities ensuring timely and accurate month-end and quarter end close activities.

Manage complex payroll-related journal entries reconciliations and flux analysis including wages bonuses taxes and benefits including 401K accounting.

Oversee the accounting for the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) and Restricted Stock Units (RSU) including the reconciliation of employee contributions share purchases and related tax withholdings for both ESPP and RSU settlements collaborating closely with the Stock Plan Administration team.

Serve as the primary accounting expert for payroll performing complex reconciliations between HRIS (Workday) ERP (NetSuite) and bank records to ensure data integrity and resolve with payroll-related audits including financial statement audits 401(k) audits and Workers’s Compensation audits.

Collaborate with global teams to support financial statement audits and provide detailed explanations for payroll-related accounts.

Identify and implement process improvements to streamline payroll accounting procedures and enhance overall efficiency and controls.

Stay current on US Canadian and international payroll tax regulations and accounting principles to ensure compliance.

Partner with People Operations and the Payroll Operations team to ensure a seamless flow of data from payroll processing to the general ledger.

You have deep hands-on experience (7 years) in a senior accounting role with a strong focus on payroll accounting for a global company.

You are a user of Workday HRIS and Workday Payroll and have extensive experience with NetSuite ERP particularly in managing journal entries reconciliations flux analysis and payroll-related reporting. Ability to lead and troubleshoot complex payroll accounting issues within the systems is a plus.

You possess a strong understanding of US GAAP and international accounting standards as they relate to payroll including stock-based compensation RSU settlements and other equity awards like ESPP.

You are a leader who can operate independently and confidently manage the entire payroll accounting process collaborating effectively with global team.

You have excellent analytical skills and a meticulous attention to detail enabling you to identify and resolve complex reconciliation issues.

You are an excellent communicator who can clearly articulate accounting concepts and status updates to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Experience in the SaaS industry is highly preferred.
