Director Surgical Services Toledo Hospital Acute & Parkway Surgery Ambulatory

Plans and directs daily operations to coordinate corporate hospital and unit goals and provides leadership direction and guidance to the Department of Surgical Services (including PreOp PACU OR Sterile Processing Preadmissions Clinic Short Stay Unit Endoscopy and some Outpatient/Ambulatory services dependent on business unit).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelors degree. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Skills: N/A

Years of Experience: Must have a minimum of 3 years in perioperative nursing.

License: Must be an RN with a current licensure in the State of Ohio or Michigan (dependent on location working).

Certification: BLS ACLS PALS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Masters degree

Skills: N/A

Years of Experience: 5 years in perioperative nursing a minimum of 3 of those years at the management level.

License: N/A

Certification: CGRN ASPAN/CAPA CNOR certification

WORKING CONDITIONS

Personal Protective Equipment: Demonstrates knowledge and use of standard precautions and PPE. Demonstrates knowledge and use of safe patient handling equipment.

Physical Demands: Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust fumes chemicals temperature changes and exposure to blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids. Must be able to attain all health requirements as identified by the organization (i.e. PPD respirator training vaccines as appropriate). Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations and prolonged periods of standing. Must be able to frequently move lift or carry light to heavy patients or equipment. Must be able to lift medium materials non-material handling; continuous standing walking bending stooping and reaching; frequent pushing pulling and squatting. Occasional sitting stairs and kneeling.
