Position Summary

This position will assist with light maintenance duties including but not limited to hanging pictures painting putting away stock and conducting daily maintenance addition this position will maintain the therapeutic gardens (planting and weeding of flower beds) and general outside maintenance of grounds and building.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance Duties:

Assist the maintenance team with regular maintenance of grounds and interior/exterior of the building including gardens parking lots sidewalks painting and minor maintenance duties.

Assist with maintaining outdoor planting materials: i.e. annuals perennials trimming etc.

Communicate harmoniously with residents staff and the general public.

Assist with the use of outdoor equipment (both hand tools and motorized equipment).

General:

Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation collective bargaining agreements County Policies and Procedures etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed

Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the positions Physical Demands Analysis.

Credentials Required

Minimum Formal Education

Enrolment in a related Trades Horticultural or Parks & Recreation program at a recognized University or College.

Experience

No experience necessary.

General building maintenance and grounds maintenance knowledge is considered an asset.

Knowledge and experience in the use of outdoor equipment (both hand tools and motorized equipment) is considered an asset.
