Summary:
This position is a hands-on learning experience with the pharmacy staff as well as other teams within Memorial. The position consists of learning all the tasks associated with the pharmacy technician scope of practice. The Pharmacy Technician Student position requires enrollment and participation in the Florida Board of Pharmacy approved Technician Employer Training Program.Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting with orientation and training of new pharmacy technicians and and supports medication distribution systems and distribution channels including automated dispensing cabinets code carts trays and medication charges/credits when prescription data entry in pharmacy system when non-sterile compounded medications including hazardous medications and cross trains in more advance functions when deem appropriateAssists with customer service and patient needs including answering telephones managing work queues and completing medication other responsibilities as assigned in support of pharmacy operations and within the pharmacy technician scope of fills receives delivers stocks and restocks medication inventory and supplies for the pharmacy department and drug storage areas. Repackages bulk medications.Competencies:
