Job Title: Welding Robot Operator / Programmer
Location: Bluefield VA
Shift: Day 5:00am 3:30pm
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: $17-$18/hr
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Welding Robot Operator who can both program and operate robotic welding systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up programming troubleshooting and maintaining robotic welding cells to ensure high-quality efficient production.
Key Responsibilities
- Program set up and operate robotic welding systems
- Load and modify welding programs to meet production and quality requirements
- Perform robot teach pendant programming
- Set up fixtures and parts for robotic welding operations
- Monitor welding processes and make real-time adjustments as needed
- Inspect welded parts to ensure conformance with specifications and quality standards
- Troubleshoot robotic welding issues
- Perform routine maintenance and assist with preventative maintenance
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve cycle times and weld quality
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience operating and programming welding robots
- Strong understanding of robotic welding processes (MIG or spot welding as applicable)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints weld symbols and work instructions
- Experience with teach pendants and robot programming logic
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of welding parameters fixturing and part fit-up
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in robotic welding or industrial robotics
- Experience with industrial robots or PLC integration
- Previous manufacturing or production environment experience
- Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance and continuous improvement (Lean)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Comfortable working around industrial machinery and robots
