Role Overview and Responsibilities
Introduction
We require a Quality Engineer to join our busy Quality department at our site in Abercynon South Wales.
The primary purpose of this role is:
- To monitor the effectiveness of the relevant sections of the Quality Management System (QMS) through the monitoring of KPIs and the application of systems and audits.
- To support in the creation of robust processes including the generation of Control Plans measurement standards and the root cause analysis of non-conformances.
- To provide an interface between the Customer / Supplier and the internal departments.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and supporting the implementation of containment for parts and corrective actions and reporting any issues.
- Working with the manufacturing teams to ensure that processes have robust quality controls PFMEA and documented control plans.
- Conducting product process and system audits as required.
- Dealing with customer queries / complaints for the Machine Shop Manufacturing area.
- Participating in the 8D review meetings.
- Participating & helping facilitate the QCPC meetings.
- Monitoring performance trends in the Machine Shop areas and providing information with regards to scrap MRB status and feedback on the status of any customer / Supplier concerns identified.
- Supporting the continued development of the QMS.
Qualifications Skills and Attributes
Skills and experience required
- An understanding of quality management tools.
- The ability to identify potential quality improvement activities.
- The ability to read engineering drawings.
- The ability to work in a structured and methodical way.
- An understanding of the requirements of a robust manufacturing QMS.
- The ability to understand product requirements and defining effective measurement systems.
- The ability to analyse data and generate reports and presentations.
- Experience in conducting system and process audits.
- Knowledge and use of measuring equipment such as Profile 50 / Shadow Graph.
