Job Summary

Our Nordic Casualty Underwriting team consists of 21 Casualty underwriters. We are now looking for an experienced Casualty Underwriter to our team in Denmark.

If BA Industrial insure large Nordic companies and their risks across the world. BA Industrials segment has a leading position in the Nordic market. Casualty Underwriting is responsible for underwriting Casualty insurances for Nordic Industrial clients and their operations abroad.

About the role

In this role you will be responsible for underwriting of casualty policies for companies with a turnover of more than DKK 500M and more than 500 employees. Underwriting is the ability to analyze and select risks tailor coverage and price Casualty risks. A good underwriter should offer experience knowledge and service to their customers as well as assist and support colleagues. A part of the job is to negotiate with customers and brokers and be responsible for your portfolios profitability. Another part of the job is to build relationships with customers and brokers and deliver service in swift and high-quality manner for which we are known for. Finally you will participate in product- guidelines- and process development also in Nordic projects where you will work closely together with other casualty underwriting specialists.

Some travelling will be a part of the role due to relationships with customers and brokers.

About the team

If Industrial Casualty Underwriting is responsible for writing liability recall Professional Indemnity and financial lines risks for industrial clients. Our Danish team consist of 3 members.

You will be part of a fun and experienced Casualty Underwriting team handling complex and interesting global Casualty solutions to our clients and brokers.

You will work together in client teams. This means that you as an underwriter will work with our Account Executives Risk Engineers Claims Adjuster Reinsurance Specialists across the Nordics.

You will work in an organization where humor and social engagement is vital parts of the daily work.

Who are you

You are an experienced Casualty Underwriter with a deep knowledge of Casualty insurance in the industrial segment. You have experience of setting up and pricing international programmes and shared solutions (captives co-insurance etc.) You have a curious mindset and love to learn new skills and to find the best solutions that matches our customers needs.

You also have:

Relevant education e.g. degree in law law and economics economics business administration or similar. Alternatively other educational background together with relevant experience.
Minimum 5 years of underwriting or portfolio management experience
Very good communication and cooperation skills
Analytical approach and strategic understanding
A fine balance of being detail oriented and understanding the broader picture
Interest to utilize data and digital solutions in our business
A Nordic approach where you collaborate with your colleagues in the Nordic countries
You like to work together with other specialists in a collaborative Nordic environment where we strive to share knowledge and help each other
English together with Danish language skills
