Performs basic supportive care to specified patients and families under the direction and supervision of an RN or Care Manager. Collects documents and reports data to the RN or Care Manager.


Job Description:


Essential Functions:

  • Performs clerical office coordination and administrative tasks as necessary.

  • Collects documents and reports vital signs. Completes screening questions and documents all items into medical record.

  • Promotes general patient safety and performs minor specimen testing. Holds positions patients and assists with procedures. Preps all materials and supplies as needed.

  • Remains compliant with HIPAA maintains professionalism and ensures confidentiality of patient information.

  • Ensures environmental standards are met and all clinic and patient areas are stocked cleaned and maintained.

  • Identifies learning needs completes continuing education and participates in offered educational opportunities. Acts as a preceptor and trains other staff.

Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.


Licensure Requirement:

Active State Tested Nurse Aide License in the State of Ohio preferred.


Certifications:

Current CPR certification (BLS for healthcare provider required) required.


Skills:

  • Effective written and verbal communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Must demonstrate competence as defined in the Patient Care Assistant responsibilities/skills checklist in providing age appropriate care and services to pediatric patients of all ages and selected adult patients.

  • Displays a positive presence and interacts with patients families staff outside vendors consultants and physicians.


Experience:

One year of patient care experience in a hospital setting within the last three years preferred.
