Job Summary
You are a seasoned Platform Driller who takes pride in the safe precise and efficient operation of production drilling equipment within a large open-pit mining environment. With hands-on experience across a variety of drill types you consistently demonstrate a strong commitment to operational excellence and safety standards. Essential Responsibilities:
Operation of a Epiroc DM45 platform drill
Operates and understands mechanics of a top head drilling unit equipped with multi-function joy sticks and GPS on a mine site.
Complies with all company client legislated safety policies and procedures of drilling in a large open pit surface mine.
Understands the limitations of the drill rig and the performances it can safely provide.
Detects and performs small mechanical repairs to the drill.
Communicates effectively and professionally with other team members when needed with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
Minimum one year surface mine drilling experience using various drilling units.
Would have thorough knowledge of drill patterns and the structure in which they are developed.
MSHA p.48 metal/nonmetal ticket is required; training and support is provided to obtain or update certificate as needed.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
Work Conditions
5 days on with 4 days off working 12 hour days that has the potential to alternate between a day and night shift rotation
Overtime rates apply after 40 hours per week and are paid at time and a half
Living out allowance provided for those who qualify
Extended Health & Wellness Benefits provided
Work will be primarily outdoors and in various weather conditions
