Utility Program Manager
Location:King of Prussia PA (Hybrid)
About the Role
This role will be supporting a portfolio for transmission substation distribution and customer interconnection projects. The team is made up of approximately 6 project managers 2 analysts and the potential for others as the account continues to grow.
As a Program Manager you will serve as the primary client-facing representative ensuring project performance aligns with technical financial and safety standards while driving innovation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Client and Subcontractor Relations:
- Act as the primary ExecuPOWER representative during program & project execution. Collaborate with clients and subcontractorsto ensure program success both through scope schedule and budget.
- Be proactive in escalating issues to help team progress. Come with solutions to help drive resolutions quickly to avoid schedule delays and downtime.
- Ensure alignment with clients latest processes and procedures
- Step in to support your project managers or analysts to mitigate issues or resolve conflicts with solar customers
- Coordinate with utility clients on access for document control staff.
- Ensure proper client training is adhered to avoid loss of access
- Develop any necessary training/onboarding that aligns with client expectations for day one
- Identify and communicate any scope changes related to your program within 5 business days. Coordinate efforts with client point of contact to ensure expectations on set regarding submittal and dollars related to said change orders
- Lead forecasting and invoicing efforts to align with both client and in house expectations
Program & Team Leadership:
- Oversee program deliverables and ensure project team is aligning with client expectations regarding management of the scope schedule and budget.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to established project criteria.
- Continue to develop and track training and onboarding documentation to ensure it is up to date and aligning with client expectations
Team Management:
- Mobilize and assign project resources based on qualifications and strengths.
- Provide performance feedback and development plans for subordinates.
- Partner with other ExecuPOWER leaders to ensure collaboration and expectations are being met by any supporting business units (Document Control & Scheduling)
- Understand how each team member is operating and ensure efficiency with their tasks
- Ensure timesheets and expense reports are filled out timely and accurately
Project Oversight:
- Lead budgeting scheduling and planning for all project phases.
- Proactively identify and resolve cost overruns schedule delays or scope changes.
- Maintain accurate and timelychange orders.
- Accountable for all program invoicing and forecasting monthly
- Coordinate with business unit coordinator to ensure any changes to contract and budget are updated appropriately along with any changes to invoices and forecasts
Reporting and Monitoring:
- Track project milestones deliverables and budgets providing updates to company leadership and clients. Establish weekly meetings to assess project status and formulate action plans.
- Accountable for all program invoicing and forecasting
- Coordinate with business unit coordinator to ensure any changes to contract and budget are updated appropriately
- Track and monitor financials monthly aligning with ExecuPOWER forecasting and accrual expectations
Business Development:
- Partner with leadership to secure new opportunities within the utility market. Identify and recruit top talent to enhance our market presence and technical offering.
Technical Excellence:
- Promote innovation through advanced solutions and cutting-edge technologies delivering exceptional results to clients.
- Encourage team to think outside the box to drive efficiency program wide
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical/business discipline.
- 8 years of experience in project or program management within the electric utility industry.
- Proven success managing large-scale utility programs such as distribution modernization or LTIIP initiatives.
- Strong understanding of project financials scheduling tools and performance metrics.
- Excellent leadership communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to travel periodically to client or project sites for key meetings and reviews.
