As a Claims Examiner you will report to the Manager of Insurance.
Responsibilities
Claims Examiner for specialty line of insurance
Creation and maintenance of all new claim files
Decisions on approval of claims working directly with the Manager of Insurance
Provide best-in-class customer service on very sensitive insurance claims
Explanation of claims process to clients
Correspondence with the insured clients employers physicians and hospitals if necessary
Communication with all of TGIs partners and credit card companies with respect to payments on client accounts
Work with Staff Accountant on monthly and yearly reporting
Provide a front-line quality customer service
Meet targeted business objectives
Qualifications
Excellent data entry and keyboarding skills
Utmost discretion with confidential customer information
Professional phone etiquette and empathy for sensitive circumstances
Strong attention to detail
Superior organizational skills
Strong analytical and decision making skills
Strong desire to take ownership and accountability of task completion
Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office particularly Excel Word PowerPoint and Access
Ability to work effectively with and without supervision
Basic accounting skills would be an asset
High School or Equivalent is required
1 to 2 years in a claims processing role would be an asset
Post-secondary or other education related specifically to insurance industry would be an asset
