The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospaces strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The Tracking Architecture Performance Department (TAPD)inthe Integrated Performance Subdivision (IPS) conducts directsand integratesmodel-based analyses empoweringteamsand staff to deliver differentiated and context-informed insights. Thedepartment iscomprisedof15 engineers responsible formodeling simulation and analysis (MS&A) of missile defense and space domain awarenessarchitectures andserves as a center of excellence for the development and assessment of tracking methods that fuse data from diverse sources.As aSeniorMember of Technical StafforEngineering Specialistin the Tracking Architecture Performance Department you willcollaborate with the departmentstaff and other engineering departments toensure mission success.

WhatYoullBe Doing
Independently lead modeling and analysisstudiesof MW/MT/MD sensing systemsbroader system-of-systems architectureswith focus on target tracking performance. Sensors include but not limited to radar EO/IR Lidar
Collaborate with other team-members to perform systems engineering studies to assesstradeoffs to balancesystemperformanceandoptimizations.
Designmodeling/simulation andanalysisstrategiesthatleverageframework of modelingsimulationand analysistools. Simulation toolsincluding in-housecustomand commercially available/government provided modelingsoftware.
Develop novel performance metrics and analyze the performance of sensors such as electro-optical (EO) radar and passive radio frequency sensor concepts architectures and algorithms.
Develop and implementtracking algorithms data-fusionalgorithmsand novel approaches to improve performance forradar lidar and/or relatedsensors and sensor architectures.
Leadprojects to improveexisting modeling and simulation toolson an ongoing basis.
Developnovel simulation approachescomputertoolsand simulations to support analyses of interdisciplinary support teams.
What You Need to be Successful
MinimumRequirementsfor theSenior Member of Technical Staff-Modeling & Simulation and Signal & Image Process Engineering:
Bachelors degree in STEM or related discipline.
A minimum of4years ofapplicable professional experienceleadingtechnicalteamsandcoordinating complexmodelingandanalysistasks.
Demonstrated strengthand experiencein modeling simulation and analysis of space systems.
Willingness tooccasionally travel and/or work off-business hours to support customer needsapproximately5-10% (as).
This position requires a current and active TS/SCI clearance which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship isto obtain a security clearance
In addition to the above theminimumrequirementsfor the Engineering Specialist -Modeling & Simulation and Signal & Image Process Engineeringinclude:
A minimum of6years of applicable professional experience leading technical teams and coordinating complex modeling and analysis tasks.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
Masters or PhD degree in related STEM discipline.
Expert level programming skills in languages such as C C Python FORTRAN
Familiarity with tools such as Bitbucket GitHub JIRA Confluence
Current active TS/SCI or SAP clearance.
Leadership experience in a customer-facing organization.
Knowledge of government space mission architectures and mission-effects chains involving multi-target tracking architectures.
Demonstrated strength in architecture and sensor-level simulations and evaluation mission performance assessments with emphasis in multi-target tracking detection and estimation.
Experience collaborating in major MS&A initiatives across other FFRDCs government entities UARCs SETAs and/or industry.
Financial and business acumen through program / business unit leadership.
The ability to communicate effectively with management program offices customers contractors and colleagues is essential.
Experienceleadingtechnical teamsand mentoring junior staff
Experience inidentifying prioritizing and resolving technical issues.
