Within ING Netherlands Product Family Payments designs builds and runs the experiences that move money for our customers securely and smoothly. Payments brings together customer needs product tech risk and operations across multiple areas to create seamless endtoend journeys. We do this in a globally scalable way so other countries can use these journeys as well.

Your department

With the Product Family Payments SEPA and TIP transactions are part of the Paying team. This team builds solutions for customers to transfer money and does this in close collaboration with Global Customer Experience PSS and other teams within ING. Their objective is to improve customer experience and reduce churn. They do this by building the best future-proof journeys that even go behind regular money transfers and could scale to other geographies.

There your role comes in: lead the change in turning Money transfer into powerful daily experiences for consumers and businesses across different countries. To realize this ambition we are looking for a customer journey expert who has extensive knowledge of Payment Products and especially SEPA and TIP transfers and of developing mobile and web features to improve on our Customers Experience. You know how to convert this knowledge and experience into leading the development of new or improved products from concept to production in order to create business value for our customers and ING. Your role & work environment

As a Product Manager youll work endtoend with Architects Engineers Designers Data Analysts Risk and Commercial colleagues to build propositions that customers love and can depend on in different Retail countries. Expect real ownership in delivering the Money transfer roadmap working within clear strategic priorities and collaborating across disciplines to turn vision into digital products.

Key responsibilities

As a Product Manager you:

  • Lead the product strategy for Money Transfer and contribute to broader Payments strategy. Balance discovery with delivery to create shortterm wins and longterm differentiation
  • Develop the best Money Transfer solutions that can be scaled to the different Retail countries and is differentiating in the market
  • Turn customer problems and commercial opportunities into product requirements and nonfunctional needs. Cocreate with engineering on Product design data flows and integration with the broader chain and core banking systems
  • Validate demand through research and experimentation size opportunities and rigorously prioritize
  • Model INGs Orange Code coach across the squad and raise the bar on product management
  • Have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take decisions based on data and facts
  • Ensure quick time to market while at the same time aligning with the different countries that will consume the solution
  • Are responsible for the results

Must-haves

  • A Masters degree ideally in Management and or Finances combines with a proven expertise in Payments Cards or Transaction Services to ensure strategic depth and domain authority
  • 12 years of proven Product Manager experience with demonstrated ability to build scale and mature product organizations not just manage them
  • Deep understanding on SEPA and TIP transfers payments and how core banking and payment systems work endtoend is a must (incl. market scanning end-to-end delivery risk management communication) Additional sales or front office and operational experience is considered a strong advantage.
  • Proven track record in driving product strategy and delivery internationally.
  • Demonstrated experience with IT change and bigger IT programs: defining and executing large-scale transformational road maps (digitalization platform integration API first strategies cloud migration etc.)
  • Advanced discovery & research craft in turning qualitative/quantitative insights into clear problem statements experiments and roadmaps. Use the insights to steer prioritization and product decisions. Comfort with data analysis.
  • Strategic and commercial skills around market analysis and developing short term and long term strategies
  • Risk mindset and familiarity with risk management and operating in regulated environments
  • Solid stakeholder management skills with excellent communication and influence across Tech Risk Legal Compliance Operations and Products across multiple countries.
  • Fluency in both English and Dutch with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Current residency in the Netherlands
  • Deep understanding of Retail and Business Banking customers and their needs
