The Mechanical Superintendent II supports the planning coordination and execution of mechanical construction activitiesincluding HVAC process piping plumbing and utilitieson complex Life Science Food & Beverage & Mission Critical projects. This role works under the guidance of a Mechanical Superintendent III or Senior Superintendent to ensure work is executed safely correctly and according to schedule.
The Superintendent II assists in managing subcontractors verifying installation quality enforcing safety and QA/QC procedures and driving daily field productivity on discipline-specific work packages
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing lookahead schedules manpower forecasts and installation sequences for mechanical work
- Coordinate daily activities with other trades ensuring mechanical work is aligned with project timelines.
- Verify that materials tools and equipment are available for scheduled tasks.
- Conduct daily mechanical installation checks and identify potential quality issues early.
- Develop plans coordinate execution strategies and complete checklists inspections and turnover documentation for a rigorous QA/QC program.
- Support commissioning preparation by verifying system installation readiness.
- Support installation of chilled water systems CRAH/CRAC units hydronic systems process piping and other missioncritical mechanical components.
- Assist with integrated systems testing coordination and mechanical signoff activities.
- Ensure construction methods support reliability redundancy and uptime requirements.
- Participate in daily safety reviews and enforce compliance with project and company programs.
- Ensure subcontractors follow all mechanical safety protocols including hot work confined space and equipment operation.
- Direct craft foremen and mechanical subcontractors on daily work tasks.
- Directly responsible for resolving field issues by coordinating with senior superintendents engineers and planning teams.
- Contribute to OAC coordination and foremen meetings when required.
Qualifications :
- 58 years of mechanical construction experience.
- Experience working in Life Science Food & Beverage or/and Mission Critical/Data Center environments is required.
- QA/QC experience highly preferred including inspection readiness and installation verification.
- Experience supervising mechanical subcontractors and foremen.
- Strong familiarity with HVAC piping plumbing and utility systems installations.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and common construction tools (Procore BIM 360 Bluebeam).
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
