Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Site Traffic Engineer (Roads O&M) to join our team in Doha this role you will be responsible for managing and optimizing traffic flow ensuring road safety and overseeing operations and maintenance activities for our road network.
- Conduct traffic flow analyses and develop strategies to improve traffic circulation and reduce congestion
- Perform road safety assessments and implement measures to enhance safety for all road users
- Design and optimize traffic signal timing and coordination to maximize efficiency
- Utilize traffic simulation software to model and analyze various traffic scenarios
- Develop and maintain Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to improve road network performance
- Oversee road maintenance activities and coordinate with relevant departments for timely repairs and upgrades
- Prepare technical reports presentations and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of traffic engineering principles in transportation projects
- Stay updated on industry trends technologies and best practices in traffic engineering and road operations
- Ensure compliance with local and international traffic engineering standards and regulations
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Transportation Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in traffic engineering or a related field with a focus on roads operations and maintenance (O&M)
- Proficiency in traffic engineering principles and practices
- Strong knowledge of traffic simulation software (e.g. VISSIM Synchro) and CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong project management abilities and experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and statistical analysis tools
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Traffic Engineering certification (e.g. PTOE) is a plus
- Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and transportation planning is highly desirable
- Familiarity with local traffic regulations and standards in Qatar is advantageous
