Position Summary
Shore Educational Collaborative has an immediate opening for a part-time licensed Physical Therapist to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our Adult Services Day Habilitation program conveniently located in Peabody MA.
The Physical Therapist works collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team including an Occupational Therapist Speech-Language Pathologist and Nurses to evaluate program participants develop habilitative PT goals and recommend strategies that support participation mobility positioning and overall functional performance within the day program and community.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen and evaluate individuals physical motor and functional abilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to recommend habilitative goals
- Provide direct physical therapy services as needed individually or in group settings for assessment goal development and progress monitoring
- Consult with train and support a highly invested and energetic group of direct support staff to implement recommended therapeutic strategies
- Recommend order fabricate and modify adaptive equipment positioning supports and mobility devices
- Focus services on enhancing functional participation within the day habilitation setting and community activities
- Monitor progress toward goals and adjust recommendations as needed
- Complete documentation in accordance with program and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist in Massachusetts through the Board of Registration of Allied Health Professions
- Experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the day habilitation model of service delivery preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team-based environment
- Ideal candidates are passionate about supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and value staff training and consultation as key components of service delivery
Compensation
- $50$60 per hour commensurate with experience
