Purpose of the role
The Arts (preferably Visual and Dramatic) and Humanities teacher is responsible for the delivery of the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum for classes in Grades 9-12 at Lynn-Rose School.
Reports to: Upper School Principal

e. Evidence of Learning - You gather document and analyse evidence of learning from various sources and use this to identify targets and action steps for improving learning.
f. Leadership for Learning - You see yourself as a leader for learning and demonstrate the same vision values and commitment as school leaders to support students to continuously learn and get better.
g. Learning Spaces - You create and use spaces to support and demonstrate the schools shared ideas about learners and learning and the ways in which students are getting better.
h. In Partnership with Parents You ensure that the individual needs of parents and carers are understood and that they feel informed and involved as valued members of the schools learning community.
i. Improvement Planning - You are committed to learning and getting better and ensure this improvement happens strategically and effectively.
Specific tasks related to the responsibilities listed above are shared during the onboarding process.

Skills Qualifications and Experience
  • The successful candidate will possess relevant teaching qualifications and demonstrated experience in an educational setting.
  • Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification is highly recommended with International Baccalaureate (IB) training and/or certification strongly preferred.
  • Applicants should have proven teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education certification and classroom experience that demonstrates the ability to deliver high-quality instruction and support student success.
