Role Overview
We are seeking a Facility Engineer (WWTP Controller) to oversee and manage activities related to wastewater and water operational systems ensuring that operations comply with project requirements quality standards and applicable environmental regulations.
The role will be responsible for supervising daily WWTP operations inspection and preventive maintenance reporting and ensuring environmental compliance with relevant authorities.
Key Responsibilities
1) WWTP Operation & Control
- Control the operation of machinery and equipment to ensure the WWTP system operates according to plan
- Implement environmental management plans manuals and emergency response plans
- Prevent wastewater discharge bypassing the treatment process
2) Inspection & Maintenance
- Conduct regular inspections of pipelines joints equipment and treatment tanks (weekly/monthly)
- Clean screens/bar racks and monitor microorganisms and overall system condition
- Inspect electrical systems and measuring instruments annually
3) Data Collection & Reporting
- Collect operational data and statistics of the wastewater treatment system
- Prepare reports on pollutant analysis based on the Department of Industrial Works requirements
- Report operational problems obstacles and results to relevant stakeholders
4) Emergency Response
- Prepare and implement emergency action plans in case of unexpected incidents
- Report emergencies (cause resolution and results) to the relevant agencies immediately
5) Legal Compliance & Coordination
- Coordinate inspections and reporting to relevant authorities
- Provide suggestions and improvements to ensure the treatment system meets compliance standards
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in wastewater treatment operations
- Strong engineering knowledge observational and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good command of English (spoken and written)
- Must holda relevant professional license and have specialized expertise in wastewater treatment
