The Registered Dietitian will serve as theCommunity Research RD delivering nutrition care within a groundbreaking national study designed to improve continuity of nutrition care between hospitals and home-delivered meal providersin this partnership between Moms Meals and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
This is a remote/hybridrolewhich requires travel in the Chicago area (Park Ridge to Winnetka to Evanston to Lincoln Square). The candidate is required to be local to the Chicago IL area.
**This RD may select to workadditionalremote hours as a Moms Meals Nutrition Educator.
Position Responsibilities may include but not limited to
- Conductthree MNT visitsover a 3-month period for each enrolled participant (home orclinic)
- Usethe Academys health informatics platformANDHIIto review referrals and enter study-required nutrition documentation
- Conduct study-relateddata collection quality-of-life assessments and participant follow-up
- Collaboratewith Moms Meals Nutrition Counseling to support seamless enrollment into home-delivered meal programs
- Ensureadherence to research ethics protocol requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- Provide telephonic nutrition education to members with chronic conditions (diabetes heart disease kidney disease etc.)
- Document goals care plans and follow-up in the designated platform
- Use motivational interviewing to support member-led behavior change
- Identifycommunity resources and coordinate referrals as needed
- Maintain competency through professional development and internal training
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Nutrition Dietetics or related field
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential
- State licensure as required (IL)
- Experience providing MNT in outpatient community or home-based settings
- Strong skills in communication (in-person and virtual) organization and follow-through
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience navigating electronic health records (EIPC preferred)
- Ability to work independently and manage field-based caseload
- Reliable transportation for home visits (mileage reimbursed)
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Masters degree or PhD in nutrition or related field
- Minimum 1-2 years clinical nutrition and /or research experience
- Previousexperience with humansubjectsresearch Good Clinical Practice or multi-site study operations
- Experience working with older adults malnutrition screening or medically tailored meal programs
- Familiarity with ANDHII or clinical informatics platforms
Physical Requirements
- Repetitive motions that include the wrists hands and/or fingers
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods
- Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
