Senior Backend Engineer

Are you passionate about solving large-scale backend problems with machine learning solutions Do you have deep expertise in Java backend development and want to help build a platform for decision automation We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to build Kings next-generation machine learning platform and drive innovation in experimentation using machine learning.

Your role within our Kingdom

As a member of the ML Operations team within the Live Operations department you will collaborate closely with our game teams. Your responsibilities will include developing the platform and integrating our decision automation platform into our games such as Candy Crush Saga. We are looking for an expert in Java development that has been working with King scale solutions and a great plus is knowledge in machine learning and multi-armed-bandits.

As a Senior Backend engineer at King you will be using the latest technologies to build ML products that empower game design workflows across the company. With over 250 million monthly active users and 50 billion events being uploaded daily its key that you care about performance and understand what works and not. It is a highly ambitious and technical environment.

So what about you You are part of a MLOps team working in different constellations to evolve our Decision Automation Platform.

• Strong Java experience databases and web development in general

• Strong software Engineering skills

• GCP data products (Kubernetes VertexAI BigQuery Cloud Storage Dataflow Dataproc to name a few) or products from other cloud providers

• End-to-end integration of systems

• Have been working with large scale backend systems (100M DAU)

• Java native bindings

• Experience in Tensorflow or PyTorch

• Strong development experience in Python based systems

• Open and not afraid to help out where it is needed

• Strong knowledge of web protocols application servers and web servers

• Strong Computer Science fundamentals design patterns and object-oriented knowledge

• Design architect test document and implement features in our core services

• Deliver high-quality and well-structured code

• Git gradle maven CI/CD Jenkins Cloud build knowledge is a must

• Very strong interest in machine learning technologies

• Knowledge in Multi-armed bandits global and contextual bandits.

• Building data pipelines and ML pipelines
